Vietnam: The long wait is over: The Vietnamese Amended IP Law officially went into effect on 1 January 2023

Following more than 16 years since the implementation of the existing 2005 Law on Intellectual Property, with two amendments in 2009 and 2019, the amended IP Law of Vietnam  officially took effect on 1 January 2023.

NZIPO: New Plant Variety Rights Act and Regulations will commence on 24 January 2023

The new Act creates a new, modern Plant Variety Rights (PVR) regime that meets responsibilities to Māori under the Treaty of Waitangi. In addition, it allows New Zealand to meet international trade obligations under the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
